Light cotton in a check of cobalt blue, marine blue, green and black, cut as a large triangle and edged all round with a fine red trim. The red is the only warm colour in the scarf, and it draws a sharp outline against the deep blues and greens.
Wrapped around the shoulders, it falls like a shawl, with the point low down the back. Folded smaller, it sits at the neck under a coat or over a shirt. The cotton is light enough for spring and autumn, and as a headscarf it can be worn all year round.
