Crocheted by hand from 100% merino wool in a heavy rib, the Marlo sweater is cut wide through the body and closes at the top with a high ribbed collar. The sleeves give it its shape. Each one opens into a full trumpet volume, then narrows into a long ribbed cuff that sits close at the wrist.
A raised cord runs across the front in loops and waves. It starts at the neckline, crosses the chest and sends one line out towards the sleeve. Because it is worked in the same wool and colour as the body, the ornament reads as relief rather than print.
For all its volume, the sweater is gently shaped at the waist. That keeps the silhouette feminine and makes it easy to wear with a skirt or cigarette trousers. The colour is a soft sand beige, and the merino keeps the chunky knit warm and soft against the skin. Every piece is knitted by hand, so small variations in the stitch are part of the work.
